Our actions
Throughout the year, Cancer@Work organizes opportunities for member companies to come together and drive the inclusion of people affected by cancer or a chronic illness in the workplace.
These key events provide opportunities to share best practices and co-create, through collective intelligence, practical and innovative tools.
Becoming a member means joining this human adventure and working together to build a more inclusive workplace.
The national barometer "Cancer, chronic diseases, and work in France"
Measuring progress is an essential mission.
Designed as a measurement and management tool for stakeholders in the worlds of work, healthcare, and social protection, this barometer examines the expectations of the working population as well as the impact of illness on professional life.
The study has been conducted by OpinionWay among a representative sample of the working population every three years since 2013.
In October 2024, Cancer@Work published the fifth edition of its barometer. It confirms that illness has already entered the workplace:
42% of working people know a colleague affected by cancer, while 33% know someone with a chronic illness.
Yet the subject remains taboo in the workplace.
Indeed, 59% of working people who have had cancer, and 65% of those living with a chronic illness, believe that disclosing this information is a difficult step.
Companies are expected to play an active role in addressing cancer and chronic illness.
6 out of 10 working people would like their company to provide greater support to employees affected by illness.
This national barometer can be adapted within each member company that wishes to do so, in order to anonymously collect the perceptions and expectations of its employees.

Cancer@Work Village: the power of a collective
Both an intranet and a resource platform, Cancer@Work Village gives member organizations access to the association’s full range of publications and resources.
Updated throughout the year, this space above all reflects the strength of the collective: Cancer@Work member companies are the ones driving change every day, sharing their best practices, experiences, and tools across the association.
The annual meetings
A collective of companies that meet throughout the year to share their successes, their challenges, and to build the solutions of tomorrow together.
The annual Symposium
Each year, the Cancer@Work Symposium brings together voices from across society, offering their perspectives and experiences on the intersection of illness and work. Testimonials from member companies and people affected by illness always hold a special place at this event.
Broadcast live from a Paris studio, this annual event showcases concrete examples of best practices and innovative initiatives. Through personal stories, shared experiences, and expert insights, the Symposium inspires employers by providing practical ideas and actionable solutions.

Cancer@Work webinars and workshops
Throughout the year, Cancer@Work organizes webinars for employees of member companies, with the aim of raising broad awareness of the challenges associated with illness in the workplace and presenting the association’s resources and tools.
Cancer@Work also offers workshops exclusively for its members, designed as co-creation sessions focused on specific topics. These sessions provide an opportunity to share practices, deepen discussions, and develop practical, concrete solutions.
The Cancer@Work Label
Measures and values the commitment and good practices of organizations
Reconciling cancer, chronic illness, and work cannot be achieved through a one-off initiative. It is a long-term process, based on regularly measuring progress, recognizing achievements, and identifying the actions still needed to keep moving forward.
This is the very purpose of the Cancer@Work Label: to provide companies with a benchmark tool to measure, structure, showcase, and accelerate their commitments to the inclusion of illness in the workplace.
Created at the initiative of Cancer@Work member companies and co-developed through collaborative workshops, the Label was developed with the support of AXA, Malakoff Humanis, and Roche. Today, it serves as a genuine marker of social innovation and sustainable commitment, aligned with the international GRI standards and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals under the 2030 Agenda.
More than a distinction, the Label is a driver of continuous progress. It enables member companies to assess their practices, recognize the progress they have made, and identify priorities for sustainably strengthening their HR and CSR policies.
Since 2019, 42 Cancer@Work member companies have been awarded the Label.

Solidarity actions
Initiatives for the employment of people affected by the disease, made possible by the members and patrons of Cancer@Work.
Job Meetings
Created in 2016 by Anne-Sophie Tuszynski, the Job Meetings promote return to and retention in employment through meetings between patients and volunteer professionals from member companies. Whether in person or remotely, these exchanges provide personalized advice in a confidential and open environment, without any recruitment process.
These meetings are enriching for everyone : participants regain confidence and clarify their career plans, while professionals deepen their understanding of the issues related to illness and work.

Health Inclusion Coordinator: a unique training pathway
by Cancer@Work and Wecare@work
In 2026, Cancer@Work and Wecare@work join forces for the employment of sick people, and create the first Wecare@work certified course for "Health Inclusion Coordinator".
The first cohort is now providing a concrete response to the needs of organizations regarding situations of chronic illness, cancer, disability and caregiver which affect all work groups.

They embody a new way of approaching inclusion by recognizing that lived experience can become a fully-fledged professional skill.
Our ambition now is to grow this initiative and develop new promotions by mobilizing more and more partner companies to bring about these new health inclusion professionals throughout France.
